PROPOSAL FOR ITS OBSERVANCE. Press Association. WHANG AREI, July 18. Acting upon information that. a movemenlt was afoot in London to initiate meetings to bo held" throughout the Empire on August 4th, the anniversary of the declaration of war, recording Britain’s inflexible determination' to continue the struggle to a victorious end, the Whangarei Borough Council last 'night decided to call a public melting on the date in question.
