ARBOR DAY TO-DAY

Arbor Day in Wellington will be celebrated to-day with a public .plant ing on the Tinakori town belt. The locality selected for the ceremony, which will take place at 11 a.m., L immediately opposite Harriett street, and is best readied by way of George street to Grant road, then by a track from the quarry metal bins in a southerly direction. The Mayor (Mr J. P Luke) and the Mayoress, Councillors G. Frost (chairman of the reserves committee), with other councillors and their wives, will participaute in the ceremony. Afterwards the Mayor and Mayoress will go to the Botanical Gardens, and each will plant a tree there. About 300 trees have been allocated by the forestry section o! the city engineer’s department fo' planting on the Tinakori Hills.
