Archbishop or Canterbury (Dr Davidson) presided at a Church Council of clerical and lay members of the Houses of Convocation of Canterbury and iork. Its transports .were sailing the seas from Australasia, Canada, and India, bearing the Empire’s sons to fight for the flag. When we were called a robber Empire, wo could point to this spectacle. The fact that General Botha was leading the British forces dn South Africa was a spectacle for men and angels.
