ITS IMPROVEMENT DURING THE WAR. •By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON. July 8. Lord St. Davids, speaking in the House of Lords, suggested the appointment of a Government committee, to consider suggestions from any source for the improvement of the Public Service during the war, with a view to efficiency and economy. Tho Marquis of Crewe (Lord President of the Council) replied that every effort had been made, to introduce business methods and scientific knowledge into the conduct of public affairs.
