CAMP ENTERTAINMENT

A SPLENDID OFFER. ; A large gathering was held at the; Y.’M.C.A. rooms last evening for the pur-, pose of organising and arranging concerts and lectures for the entertainment of the soldiers during the winter months. Varney. • It was decided to arrange entertain-; founts’ for the men on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, whenever suitable. the chairman and secretary arc also to arrange a'scries of lectures. , Mr Varney reported that Mr S.'E. Lnttrell, of Christchurch, had authorised, Mr R. E. Sinclair to make an offer to •defray the cost of one train per week to convey concert, parties to the camp in order, to entertain the soldiers. Tire secretary was instructed to write and thank Air Luttrell for his splendid offer, which ’ will enable concert parties to travel in more comfort during the,Cold weather ' '
