A NEW PIANO
WIRES WORKED BY ELECROMAGNET. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright "Times’' and Sydney "Sun" Service*. PARIS, July 10. Two Frenchmen have invented piano wires that can bo sot in vibration by an electro-magnet instead of by being struck with hammers. The mechanism is operated by the usual keyboard, but instead of the notes dying gradually away they maintain their volume as long as the key is pressed down. The effect produced is similar to that an organ makes. The piano using the wires .is an entirely new style of instrument.
