A SCHOONER WRECKED
CREW MAROONED FOR FIVE MONTHS. By Teleurnpli—Press Association— Copyright (Received July 12, 5.5 p.m.) NEV£ YORK, July 12. The steamer City of Sydney has arrived at San Francisco, having on board the rescued captain, eight of the cfew, and two babies (the children ol tho captain) from'the wrecked schooner Mokonies.
They were marooned for fire month* on Clepperton Island, off the Mexican coast.
Tho party anticipated being rescued by the Mexican gunboat Tampico, but tho Constitutionalists captured and sank her. There was a small Mexican colony on the island.
Food ran low, and three of tho crewstarted for tho mainland, arriving after seventeen days of great suffering due to shortness of food and water. The cruiser Cleveland rescued tho party and transferred them to the City of Sydney.
