LAUNCH CAPSIZED

ONE MAN DROWNED; SIX MISSING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, July 11. Last night a fishing party of thirteen was returning from Tweed Hoads when their launch capsized three-quar-ters of a mile from land. Six managed to reach tho shore in an exhausted condition. Tho body of a s%.venth, A. Buchanan, drifted ashore, and six are missing, namely, A. Arnold, C. Gibson, G. Piggott, Frecney, J. Barrett, and Badham.

A tugboat was prevented from crossing the bar to search for.the missing men, owing to tho high sea running. Another vessel went out, but signalled late last night that her search had been, unsuccessful.

The weather is bitterly cold, and there is little hope, even if the, men managed to keep afloat, that they have survived tho exposure. THREE BODIES RECOVERED. SHARKS ATTACK VICTIMS. (Received July 12, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 12. The bodies of three victims of the Tweed Heads disaster have been recovered, When the boat was overturned there were big waves running in tho channel, which washed the men who were tiinging, numbed by the bitter cold, off the upturned boat. Buchanan made gallant efforts to save Freeney. Ho became exhausted, and was dashed against tho rocks and sank.

There was evidence that sharks attacked some of the victims who were attempting to reach, the land.
