DAVIS CUP COMPETITORS. .By Telegraph— Press Association-" Copyright LONDON, July 10. Mr Gordon Inglis, representing the Australasian Tennis Association, entertertained the Australasian Davis Cup team at the Savoy Hotel on the eve of their departure for America to play the defenders,. Brookes, in responding to the toast “Our Guests,” said it would probably be the last time he would play hi an international . team. They would do their best to regain the trophy. Wilding said he anticipated a keen struggle. The result-was doubtful. Parke, A. H. Lowe, Mavrogordato, and Kingscoto have been selected to meet Australasia in America in the event of Britain defeating France. (Received July 13, a.m.) LONDON, July 12. In the Davis Cup match Mavrogordato defeated Germot, 4—6, 7- —5, 9 7, 6—2. Parke defeated Decugis, - 6—2, 4—6, 3—6, 6—3, 6—3.
