At 4.30 yesterday morning, the Petone brigade received a call to a fire in a two-story dwelling, used as a boardinghouse, in Fitzherhert street, Fetone. The fire had a good hold of the building before the brigade was summoned, and the place was completely gutted. The occupants, lost the whole of their effects and escaped in little more than their bight attire. The building was owned by Mrs E. Murphy and occupied by Mrs Wilson. The State office holds a cover for £! 7." on the building and the Comraercial Union office £'lso on the furniture..
