MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The management committee of the New- Zealand Rugby Union mot last evening. Present—Messrs ' N. Galbraith (chairman), Lanrensooi, Perry, Hyams, Wylie, Isaacs, Laughton, G- H. Dixon and A. H. Hollis (secretary). Mr Galbraith "was re-elected chaiTtman for the ensuing year. hu returning thanks for erecting him to the position Mr Galbraith said he would do his best to warrant the confidence that the committee reposed in him. He also welcomed Messrs W. Perry and Hyams, who had recently been appointed to the committee. They were both ex-members of the committee, and he was sure that they would ably assist the committee in their deliberations. The recommendations of the annual meeting were then dealt with. The first business was the application of the Hawke’s Bay Union for a loan of AIOOO for a ground at Hastings. Mr 'Wylie moved that subject to the title and the valuation being satisfactory the loan be granted to the Hawke’s Bay Union on the security offered by the Hastings sub-union at the rate of 1 2 per cent reducible to per cent, on punctual payments within fourteen days, interest to be paid half-yearly and repayments to be made at the rate of ASO per annum.

Mr Dixon moved os an amendment, after the finances of the union had' been discussed, that JC7SO bo advanced instead of d: 100 U. and the union bo informed that this was ail the money that could be spared. The Canterbury Bugby Union ' forwarded a list containing the names of over seventy -layers who had played the League game. It was decided to communicate with each on© asking them to show cause, within fourteen days, why thov should not bo disqualified. The Marlborough Union wrote stating that a number of players who had taken part in a League practice game had been suspended as a lesson to thorn and to act as a deterrent to others. The matter was trifling, and the union had removed the suspensions, and asked the committee to agree to this course. The committee, after consideration, decided to agree to the suspensions being removed, provided the match they participated in was not advertised and no gate money was taken. . The Dew South Wales Bugby Union asked the committee to arrange to have the steamer delayed at Sydney dll fl p.m. on August 15th—'the date of the New Zealand teams departure. The New South Wales University team would probably leave by the same steam, or. Matches had been arranged against teams from the Orange euui AnnjacUuo districts on July 15th and 22nd respectively. The arrangements regarding: the steamer were left in the hands of the chairman. and secretary, and it was agreed bo ask the New South Wales Union if .they agreed to the terms regarding the New Zealand team extending their tour by an extra week.
