The Shannon Senior Football Club were defeated by 5 points to nil on Saturday by the Levin Wanderers. Mr and Mrs Rowley have returned from Dunedin.

Mr Barclay left here on Monday for Masterton. He will he leaving shortly for Masterton for a trip to the Old Country. The Ladies’ Hockey Club were defeated by 3 goals to 2 by the Levin ladies last week. Mr Hekanui has disposed of his farm in the East road to Mr Hennesev, of Foxton. The Temukanui Flaxmilling Company will shortly erect a two-stripper mill’ at Tokomaru, in place of the two single-stripper mills that were recently destroyed by fire. ’ Messrs McKenzie, Hensman and Selby have been selected to , represent the Shannon Debating Society against Levin shortly in a competitive debate.
