MONTHLY MEETING. . From Our Own Correspondent. March 14. The monthly meeting of the general committee of the Masterton. Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held this afternoon, Mr O. C. Cooper (president) presiding over a large attendance of members. A letter was received from the Pahiatua A. and P. Association in reference to the disqualification by the association of an exhibitor who had written an insulting letter to a judge. It was decided to hold over the matter pending the receiving of a communication from, the Holstein Association on the matter, and that the Pahiatua A. and P. Association be recommended to refer the matter to the Council of Agriculture.

Hearty votes of thanks -were accorded to the stock-receiving stewards at the - show (Messrs W. D. Watson, R. Cooper, and Cooper), H. Douglas (refreshment steward), the judges, and stewards. FINANCE COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the finance committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held this" morning, Mr D. Caselborg presiding. The treasurer reported as follows: Credit balance, January- 14th, £l7l Os 3d ; receipts for the mouth, £1724 13s; expenditure for the mouth. £634 os 9d; credit balance, £‘1261 8s 3d. The secretary presented ia statement of accounts in connection with the show, as follows : —Show account—Receipts, £1370 3s 3d; expenditure, £1404 13s lOd; dr. balance, £34 10s 7d. Show luncheon account—Receipts £-392 14s 6d; expenditure, £350 11s Id; cr. balance, £42 3s yd. Ram fair account— Receipts, £222 4s 6d; expenditure, £ll3 19s 8d; cr. balance, £IOB 4s lOd. In the general account the expenditure since June SOth last had been £1290 0s 7d, and the receipts £1774 8s 6d, leaving a credit balance of £6OO os 7d. The receipts from gates at the last show had been £235 Is, grandstand £47 3s, cloak-room 18s 9d, luncheons, etc., £276 7s 6d, privileges £36, weight-judging £47 13s.

It was decided' to draw the attention of the luncheon committee to the heavy increase in luncheon tickets at the show, and that the committee he asked to investigate the matter. Other routine business was transacted. GROUND COMMITTEE.

The ground committee held its month, ly (meeting this morning, Mr R. Gray presiding. Tenders were received from Messrs H. E. Gosueli and C. Stewart for grazing forty-two acres at the show-o-round, and it was resolved that Messrs McGregor and Gray interview the parties concerned, and endeavour to arrange for an alteration as to termination of period of grazing. The tender of the caretaker at £3 for the use of the clover paddock at the showgrounds up till the cud of November was accepted. Thirty-two members were elected, and the resignations of twelve were accepted.
