A FORTHCOMING STATEMENT.. A" number of union delegates attend* ed a conference meeting yesterday, called by the Wellington main branch of the United Labour party, and the fighting platform for the forthcominggeneral elections was finally adopted; ' A delegate raised the matter ‘ of the statement made by some members’Of the Social Democratic party at a public meeting on Saturday that they had voted for Mr J. P. Luke at the last Mayoral election. In view of the fact that, pending the July conference, a truce existed between the two organic j sations, the delegates' strongly oqpjf,; demned such conduct, and a commite,: tee was appointed to draW ’up a statei ment expressing their attitude. A' copy of this statement is to be Sent to every union in Wellington.
