RUGBY
PETONE CLUB. The twenty-fourth annual meeting of the Petone Rugby Football Club was held last evening, and was largely attended. Mr A. Coles (president) was in the chair. . The report and balance-sheet showed the club to be in a very satisfactory position. The cash credit balance amounted to £43 Us sd, while the assets exceeded the liabilities by £438 19s lid. The president spoke in appreciative terms of the record of tire club in the field, which was stated to he unique in the annals of football in New Zealand. A number of new members were elected. Officers for the ensuing year wore appointed as follows: —President, Mr A. Coles; vice-presidents, Dr M. AA'. Ross, Messrs H. J. Palmer, J. AA’. Martin, T. M. AA’ilford, M.P., _ R. Mothes, G. D. McEwen, J. T. King, J. AV. McEwan, 11. W. Short, G. Dario, H. Ryder, R. Corsom, AV. Hay, A. Pickard, AA’. AA’earne, j. H. Lynsky, J. Couzens (Nelson), A. Colwie, H. Card, E. T. Taylor, R. Dansey, H. G. Young, R. Hancock, J. G. Castle, M. AV. AVeloh, C. P. Brocklebahk, Gustafsen, and J. O’Meara; club captain, Mr AV’. Fraser; vice-captain, Jlr Joe Price; secretary, Mr A. Bennett; treasurer, Mr George Miller; auditors, Messrs D. Fraser ,and J. Wynyard; management committee, Messrs AA’. J. Hardham, V.C., E. Price, M. Ryan, T. Price, and AV. Donovan; delegates to Rugby Union, Messrs AV. J. Hardham, AV. Fraser, and G. Miller. The following selectors were appointed;— Seniors, Mr E. Price; juniors, Mr W. Fraser; fifth class, Mr AV. Donovan. The appointment of selectors for the third, fourth and sixth grades was left to the management committee. Mr George Miller, late secretary of the club, was elected a life member in recognition of his valuable services.
