THORNDON CLUB. Last evening the above club held the filial of the second event of the president’s handicap series. The preliminary heats ivere decided on Saturday afternoon and as the finishes had ia, all oases been close, an interesting struggle was anticipated in ths> final. Evans won an exciting race by a yard, with McLean a touch in front of O’Meara, Details are: —R. Evans (scr) 1, T. H. McLean (lOsec) 2, W. J. O’Meai'a (9sec) 3. Also started: A. W. Smith (20sec), L. McCaskey (lOsec), J. Wareham (6sec), J." Garrett (osec), W. Lomas (osec), R. Watson (2seo), and S. Dndson (Isec), Time. 70 3-ssec. On Thursday evening the final (a 50 yards handicap) will be held.
