MIRAMAR GOLF CLUB
The Miramar Golf Club opened its season on Saturday afternoon, when there was a large attendance of members and visitors. The captain, Mr M. W. Horton, in a short speech, declared the season open, and gave some interesting particulars about the club’s progress during the last few years. The various competitions resulted ■ as follows:
Ladies.—<-Driving, Miss E. Gray, 168 yards. Approaching, Miss L. Turton. Putting (two prizes), Miss E. Gray and Miss S. Carter (36). Men. —Driving, A. Erskine, 205 yards. Putting, C. E. Finch (36). The men’s competition in approaching resulted in a tie between several players, who will play off later on. EKETAHU iVA CLUB. The Ekctahuna Golf Club has elected the following officers for the ensuing'year:;—President, Mr P. Nielsen; vice-presidents, . Messrs G. Blackmoro .and F. C. Tumor: captain, Dr Jamieson ; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. A. Haswell ; general committee, Messrs Hannah, Marenzie, Dempsey, Small and Toohill; ladies’ committee, Mesdarnes Turner, Hannah, Haswdll, Marettzi, and Miss Anderson.
