NOW TAKING SHAPE FARES ARRANGED. The executive of tho Citizens’ Carnival Association met last evening, tlio Mayor (Mr J. P. Luke) presiding. An offer was received from Miramar, Ltd., of the free use of the park for sports. The secretary of the "Wellington Racing Club wrote stating that ho did not think the club would give permission for tho holding of raotor-cyclo races on the course at Trcutham, as the track had been considerably damaged by this form of sport last year. Mr J. H. Pollock said the training track would bo available, but tho gentleman to whom this matter had been referred did not think tho project should be proceeded with, considering the recent fatality at Palmerston North. The services of tho Boy Scouts were offered by their district commander, contingent upon school holidays being granted.—Tho offer was accepted with thanks. Regarding tho proposal for an aeroplane 0 flight, tho Mayor said ho had interviewed General Godley, who informed him that nobody was available to make the flight, but if a suitable person could bo found for this purpose tho department would have tho machine brought to Wellington. On a suggestion by Mrs Luke, it was decided to make an effort to secure tho loan ot the aeroplane for exhibition purposes. Mr W. H. Morton mentioned that he hoped to bo shortly in touch with Mr Scotland the aviator.
