BISHOP AVERILL
ENTHRONED AT AUCKLAND. ' Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 10. The enthronement of the Right Rev. Dr A. IV. Averill as Anglican Bishop of Auckland took place in St. Mary's Cathedral this evening. Practically all the clergy of the diocese were present, and the ceremony was performed by the Ven. Archdeacon Calder. There was a very large congregation present. The Bishop preached a powerful sermon, and at the close of the service a solemn “To Deum ” was sung. The Bishop will celebrate Holy Communion in the cathedral at 9 a.ra. to-morrow; and will be publicly welcomed at the Town Hall on Thursday night. ‘
