exhibition matters. CENTRAL . COMMITTEE FOR PANAMA. A meeting of the general committee of the Wellington Provincial Industrial Association was held last evening, Mr C. B. Norwood presiding. The secretary read, a letter from the Secretary of Agriculture (Mr F- 8. Pope), intimating the Government s intention of exhibiting at the Panama Exposition in 1915. A further letter asked that the president of the association (Mr Norwood) should become a member of the central committee, which it was proposed to set up to confer with the Government regarding the exhibit to be forwarded to the Exposition. Xho committee will con' sist of the chairmen of the various Chambers of Commerce, Industrial Associations, and A. and P. Societies in the Dominion. and a conference with the Prime Minister is to be held on February 26th. The secretary reported that he had visited the Auckland Exhibition, and had received a very hearty welcome. There, was every indication of there being a surplus of funds available for the improvement of the Auckland Domain. There was dissatisfaction, however, amongst the stall-holders, who complained of the poor business inside the buildings owing to attractions, the band particularly, outside. Some, indeed, had left their stalls, and the space in some instances had been relet. Many people held that the Exhibition, as such, was not superior to the one held in Wellington in 1911. It was the intention of the authorities to keep the Exhibition open until after Easter.

Mr D. Robertson was reappointed the association’s representative to the Wellington Technical School Board.
