CANADIANS INDIGNANT
AT ENGLISH PROHIBITION, OF ROSS RIFLES AND SIGHTS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Tlinee —Sydney '‘{Sun" Special Gables.) LONDON, February 8. Canadian riflemen are indignant with the National Rifle Association for prohibiting the use of Canadian sights. Colonel Hughes has offered a loan of sufficient Canadian rifles to accommodate every Territorial and regular. Unless Hie Canadians are allowed to use their own rifle, probably no Canadian team will compete at Bisley.
[A cable message published yesterday announced that Colonel Hughes (Minister for Defence) had announced that if the War Office adhered to its refusal to allow Canadians at Bisley to use tile Rosa rifle with aperture sight, the Canadians would refuse altogether to compete. When the question was raised in the Canadian House of Commons, members on both sides congratulated Colonel Hughes.]
