Tho evidence showed that ho hired a taxi-cab on Monday, drove to 'Waterloo Bridge, and leaped into the river. Tho police rescued Lyons in a .semiconscious state. He served four years in a French prison, and was discharged on December 14th. Coming to London, ho heard someone say:—“There’s Sumner!’’ (the man who is accused of the Liverpool murder), and, fearing arrest, ho decided to commit suicide. He was remanded.
