In connection with the murder of Miss Christina Bradlicld, whose body was found in afjsack in the Liverpooi Canal, on the 12th Inst., Sumner, a packer, who was suspected of the crime, has been arrested. It was said that Sumner had attempted to escape on tho steamer Majestic, bur this was not true.

Tho arrest was mad© in a Liverpool lodginghouso, where Sumner had resided since the murder. He had disguised himself by shaving a distinctive oye-brow, wearing spectacles, and by other devices.

Ho frequently walked tho streets, where a former schoolmate recognised and denounced him.
