A serious motor car accident hnp-« pound on the Rangitikei lino at 4.30 this afternoon, resulting in the death of David Musgrove, a taxi driver and a well-known athlete. A motor-car accident occurred on th« Duller Gorge road to-day, whereby Mr# Tyers, wife of Mr Tyers, of Christchurch, and formerly of tho Income, Tax Department, fractured a leg, an eight-year-old lad named Liddy fractured a thigh, and a man named Bowman got severely bruised. Several others were in tho car, which ran away just as the drivers had changed at tho top of Burley’s Hill, and went over an embankment. The other occupants, however, escaped with slight injuries, Tho car was badly damaged. At the hospital to-night Mrs Tyer’S leg was amputated above the ankle.
