The annual meeting of the Wellington Furniture Workers 1 Union was held last evening, Mr D. R. Kennedy presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report showed that the membership at the beginning of the half-year was 358 and at the end of the year 440. The balancesheet showed that tho cash in hand was £630 16s, there being a credit of £75 on the half-year’s working, despite heavy expenditure, including sick pay to members. The total assets amounted to £853 12s 2d. The report and baiance-shtct were adopted. Tne following officers were elected— President, Mr D. R. Kennedy; vicepresident, Mr J. Ferguson; secretary, Mr D.
