The annual meeting of the Wellington Furniture Workers 1 Union was held last evening, Mr D. R. Kennedy presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report showed that the membership at the beginning of the half-year was 358 and at the end of the year 440. The balancesheet showed that tho cash in hand was £630 16s, there being a credit of £75 on the half-year’s working, despite heavy expenditure, including sick pay to members. The total assets amounted to £853 12s 2d. The report and baiance-shtct were adopted. Tne following officers were elected— President, Mr D. R. Kennedy; vicepresident, Mr J. Ferguson; secretary, Mr D. Moriarty; treasurer, Mr Herb. Smith ; management committee, Messrs W. Staveley, G. ‘E. Aers. H. Aers, TV. H. Rowlands, and T. W. Chapman; auditor, Mr A. H. Cooper; solicitors, Messrs Wilford and Lc-vi. Detective-Sergeant Rawle and Detective Cameron yesterday arrested a man named William Jlaekay on a charge of having assaulted Gustav Vacklyn on the 20th inst-
