The Incorporated Society of Meat Importers* Smitbfield market quotations for the undermentioned classes of frosen meat are based on actual salsa of not (ms than one hundred carcases of mutton or lamb or twenty-five quarters ol beef of fair average quality. The quotations aro not for selected linca, but foi parcels fairly representative of the bulk at the shipments now on the market. The prices which follow are on the average a farthing per lb more than the values ex ship, this difference representing; an average cost in expense, handling, conveyance and selling the meat.

There were , larger entries of fat stock than was expected, and there was also a good attendance. Beef showed a further decline, as there was not a very keen demand. Fat lambs were firm at about the previous week's rates, and fat sheen declined about Is per head. Pigs sold at improved rates. Store Sheep—Forward 4-tooth weihers I6s 9d to 16s lOd, 4 and 6-tooth wethers (very forward) 18a sd. other 4 and 6-tooth wethers 12s 9d to 15s 6d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 15e 3d to 15s sd. 2-tooth half bred wethers 13s Id to 13s 4d. 4, 6 ana 8-booth shorn ewes with lambs 13s (all counted), 4 and 6-tooth medium ewes 15s 6d, ewes (small) 12s 9d, 4 and 6-tooth aged shorn ewes (woolly) with lambs 8s 6d, aged shorn ewes with lambs 9e, aged merino ewes (woolly) and lambs 8s 6d, dry merino ewes (woolly) 7e 8d to -fts 3d, full-mouth cross ewes (woolly) with good lambs 15s 7d.
