QUIET AT GREYMOUTH

Press Association. GREYMOUTH, December 19. Strike matters aro very quiet hero to-day. The Holmdale has resumed discharging, and is being bunkered with Reefton coal. Registration has been granted to the new Waterside Workers’ Union. Tho president of tho old union has All tho men employed on the s.s. Holmdale are members of tho old union. It is understood tho old union will test tho legality of the new union’s registration, on tho ground that the old union’s registration under the Arbitration Act had not previously been cancelled. About 600 specials have been enrolled, and officers to command have been appointed. It is understood that 25 regular police, who have loft W’ollington for the Coast under Sub-Inspector McKinnon, have been ordered to Westport, and will reach there to-day.
