PREMIER ASKS FOR DISSOLUTION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright MELBOURNE, December 19. Mr Elmslie, the Labour Premier, has asked for a dissolution. The Lieutenant-Governor gives his reply to-day.
DISSOLUTION DEQLINED,
(Received December 20, 1 a.m.) MELBOURNE, December 19. ~™ Lieutenant-Governor, Sir John Madden, declined to grant Mr Elmslie a dissolution. Mr Elmslie thereupon tendered the resignation of the Ministry It is anticipated that Mr' Watt will be sent for to-morrow.
