SPRINGBOKS DECLINE INVITATION At*a meeting of the management com LUittfie of the New Zealand Rugby Union a letter %tos received from the South African Rugby Union thanking the Now Zealand Union for the Invitation to send a team to the Dominion, but intimating that it would be impossible to accent the invitation. The primary reasons, according to the letter, were that it was only as recently as the beeinning of this year that a South African team had returned from a tour of the British teles; also because it had hem decided two years ago that the South African inter-Stato tournameu' would take nlaco in July, 1914, at Natal.
