HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. Another crowded audience greeted the Fuli-cr-Brcunan Vaudeville Company at Hts Majesty’s Theatre iast evening. Miss Gabriello Hope delighted the house with her cievor manipulation of musical belle, xylophone and dulcimer. She gave some splendid selections from operas and also showed that she was equally at homo while playing ragtime. Foolish Ford is a capital comedian, and during the time he occupied tho stage the audience was kept in a state of great merriment. I) .da vale and Gilbert, Vaughan and Berry, Marjorie Daw. La Doric, and the Bright Sisters also gave good turns, which were thoroughly appreciated. Tho same programme will bo presented this evening. A FAMOUS DANCER. The outstanding attraction this week is the visit of Adeline Genee, the worldfamous dancer, and the Imperial Russian Ballet to Wellington. Allen Dale, the New York critic, recently wrote a long eulogy of Mile. Geneo after seeing her performance at the Metropolitan Opera House. New York, and described her nereonality as one ■ of the most remarkable he has ever experienced. “To see her.” he wrote, “is to realise the true meaning of the term 'the poetry of motion.’ but not only is it that her marvellous dancing enchants one, but the magnetic force of her personality is indelibly impressed upon the audience." The Wellington season will commence at the Opera House next Saturday evening and will terminate on Saturday, November Ist, when a matinee and evening performance will be given. There was an extraordinarily heavy demand for seats yesterday at the box office, and ft highly successful season is assured. ORPHANS' CONCERT. A good audience gathered at the Town Hall last evening, when a most enjoyable concert was given by the Orphans' Club in aid of the Town flail clock fund. ''Shipwrecked,’’ a ''feature” photo-play of exceptional merit, heads the present .mime of tho King’s Theatre. The stow deals with the nee, of a. valet to the leadership of a millionaire s party who are shipwrecked and cast oway on a desert island. The scenes are unusually fine, and the play is enacted in a most realistic manner. The best of the other films include “The Judge and the Girl and “The Husband’s Trick.” MISS CALLOW'S RECITAL. To-morrow evening the Wellington contralto, Miss Mina Caldow, will appeal’ at the Town Hall, and will ( bo assisted by Mr Hellemann, who will preside at the grand organ, with Mr Edward B. Gilchrist (violin), and Mr Frank S. Amsden (piano). Mr C. H. Clarkson will contribute a couple of items.' The sale of tickets is reported to be good, and everything points to an excellent concert. The popular contralto is said to ]be in good voice, and judging by the very flattering press notices Miss Caldow has received in the Old Land, she must be well up amongst tho front rank of contraltos. Miss Caldow will sing the grand operatic aria “Avanera," from Bizet’s “Carmen,” “The Rosary" (by special request), "Nearer My God to Thee” (with grand organ). “The Little Damozel" (Ivor Novello), "The First of June" (Oliver), and a number of Other songs.
