HARRIERS

The Central Harriers held a two-and-a-half-milo handicap race from the old golf-house, Miramar, yesterday. Out of eleven entries only seven men faced tho starter. Tho weather was fairly good, save for a rather stiff northerly which tho men had to face for more than half the distance. E. Aldridge (Soseo) led from the start, followed closely by Myers (6oseo) and Duck (50aec). This order was maintained for half tho distance, when Rutledge took tho load, owing to Aldridge and Duck missing tho trail. On reaching the twomilo post Rutledge still was in tho lead, closely followed by Aldridge, Mulcahy, Burrell, and Poynton. At this point the scratch men took a hand in making the pace, Burrell going to the front, with Mulcahy close at his heels. A good finish ended in Mulcahy winning by a few yards from Burrell and Rutledge. The times are as follow:-—M. Molcahy (lOsec), actual time 12min 47sec, 1; F. J. Burrell (15seo), actual time 12iain 59sec, 2; D. \V. Rutledge (30sec), actual time 13min 16seo, 3; M. Poynton (lOsec), actual time 13min 6sec, 4. Next week’s run will take place from Brooklyn. • '
