ALLEGED FORGERY

UNION COMPANY'S EMPLOYEES CHAiIGED. Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 16. At the Police Court this morning, before Mr F. V. Erazer, S.M., William Morrow Saunders, William Henry Owens, Richard lyrell, and Henry Lloyd Davies were charged that at Onehunga they forged certain names to documents purporting to be receipts for wages, with intent that the Union Steam Ship Company should act on them as genuine. Accused were remanded till next Wednesday, each being bailed in one 6urety of £2OO.

The four men are servants of the Union Steam Sli p Company, and employed at Onehunga, Saunders being the local manager at the port, and the others engaged in minor positions. The allegation is that the four men conspired together to obtain money from the company by signing on the wagessheets fictitious names and names of men who were not, during the period covered by the respective wages-sheets, working for the company. It is probable there will be altogether eight or nine charges, covering the amount of about £3OO, and going hack for a period of eighteen months.
