CANDIDATES FOR GRAND NATIONAL MEETING. Special to the "Times." CHRISTCHURCH, July 15. Nyland and Aberbrothock, the Grand National Hurdles candidates, have been schooled over hurdles during the past few days, each going very well. Nyland at times evinced a disposition to get in rather close to his hurdle at his first schooling, but afterwards he jumped- beautifully. Gold Pin is giving his trainer some cause for uneasiness, one of his forelegs baviug shown signs of weakness. Peg has rejoined M. Hobbs's active brigade at Riccarton, and is looking well after her spell. Her stable companion. The Martagon—Ronetta filly, is suffering from an enlarged joint, but it is hoped it will not interfere with her preparation. Sir George Clifford's Derby colt tfightwatch has been moving short in his tasks of late, and his- trainer considers it is probably due to muscular soreness. Mumura, who has been enjoying a spell' at Racecourse Hill, has rejoined D. Roberts's active team at Riccarton. The Southland trainer P. T. Hogan has arrived at Riccarton with St. Aidan, Jan and Corso, who claim engagements at the Grand National meeting.
