Dickius, of Pongaroa, have returned from an extended trip of Australia and the South Sea Islands. Tho Hon. G, J. and Mrs Smith and their daughter were passengers by the Main Trunk train_ from Auckland yesterday afternoon. Visitors to Wellington staying at tho Grand include Dr. Earle and Mr W. Duncan, of Wanganui, and Mr M. Eigar, Featherston. Mr E. R. Guinness, of Timaru, has come to Wellington to attend the Racing Conference as the representative of the South Island Country Clubs. Mr E. W, Alison, of Auckland, who represented W T aitemata in Parliament for several terms, is in Wellington, and was an interested visitor, to the House last night. The Rev. D. Hird, M.A., of Palmerston North, arrived in Wellington last evening to attend the half-yearly district Congregational Church Conference

Among the passengers who will arrive at Wellington this morning from Lyttelton by the Maori are Messrs A. S. Malcolm, M.P., G. J. Anderson, MJP., and E. Norden.
