DEFENCE PROBLEM.
MEMORIAL TO PREMIER GOVERNMENT ASKED FOB A PLAIN STATEMENT. By Tilerraph—Press Association—CopyrlfltM (Received February 28, 9.55 p.m.) LONDON, February 28. The National Defence Association has addressed a memorial to Mr Asquith urging the Government to take the nation into its confidence and to furnish a plain statement of the defence problem. The memorial regrets the Defence Committee’s concentrating on the, invasion problem, and suggests that it is desirable for the committee to investigate and define tiie whole military situation both overseas and at Home.
The memorial expresses doubt as to the ability of the territorials to cope with Home defence.
