TRAWLERS’ WAGES
DISPUTE SETTLED AT DUNEDIN. Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 27. Mr J. R. Triggs, Conciliation Commissioner, sat to-day to hear tho Dunedin trawlers’ dispute. After a Lengthy conference an agreement was arribed at. The week’s work is not to exceed 70 hours, and the hours of work are not to exceed 12 in any one day without payment for overtime. A mate or leading deck hand shall be paid not less than £2 10s per week and found; engineer or man in charge, £3 10s and found; firemen, £2 7s fid and found; deck hands, £2; cook, £2. Saturday or Sunday shall bo observed as a day of rest, and work done on the day of rest shall bo paid for extra per hour at rates that shall be equal to the ordinary rates. Tho award comes into force on March 14th, and will continue in force until March, 1916.
