The Incorporated Society of Meat Importers’ dmutilieid market quotations for the undermentioned classes of trozen meat are based on actual sales of not less than one hundred carcases of mutton or lamb or twenty-live quarters ol beef of fair average quality. The quotations are not for selected lines, but for parcels faiirly representative of the bulk of the shipments now on the market. The prices which follow are ou the average a farthing per lb more than tbe vaiues ex ship, this difference representing an average cost in expense, handling, conveyance and selling the meat.

RABBITS. The market is unchanged. Large sorts are firm, and young sorte dull.

Press Association. OAMAKU, February 23. There has been increased activity in the wheat market during the week, millers wanting new wheat for mixing purposes. The rain stopped threshing, and this may have slightly increased the demand. Abuot 15,000 sacks were sold; 1100 sacks of ted chaff and velvet were sold at 3s 5Jd net at country stations, hut for another lino of the same size 3s 6d was obtained. Velvet brings 3s 6Jd to 3s 6Jd net at country stations. Red chaff has brought 3s 6d net delivered at the mill, and other lines at 3s s£d and 3s Cd net at country stations, while the figure for Tuscan ranges from 3s s id net and 3s 6d less commission.
