VISCOUNT PEEL. LONDON, October 24. The death is announced of Viscount Peel, ex-Spcaker of tho House of Commons.

Lord Peel was eighty-three years of aee. the youngest son of Sir Robert Peel, the famous Prime Minister, and sat in the Commons as Liberal member for Warwick from 1865, holding? various minor Government offices until 1884, when ho was elected Speaker of tho House of Commons, a position he occupied with distinction until 1895, when ho was raised to the peerage. The successor to the title is his eldest sou, William Robert We-lcsley Peel. Unionist M.P. for Taunton since 1909. The new Viscount was born in 1866, is a barrister by profession, acted as war correspondent for the " Daily Telegraph ” daring tho last Graeco-Turkish war, and sat In Parliament for Manchester South from 1900 to 1906.
