MEAT FOR THE ARMY
SHORTAGE OF SUPPLIES FROM AUSTRALIA. (Received October 20, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, October 20. Sir George Reid, High Commissioner, has cabled to the Government stating that the Army Intelligence Department is complaining of a shortage of Australian tinned meat for the troops. It will soon be necessary to apply to foreigners if supplies are unavailable in Australia.
