Owing to the tournament being delayed a week it has been found possible to play off the first round. ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. ALLOTTED TO CANTEEBUEY. PRESS ASSOCIATION. OHRISTCHUKOH, August 6. Til<4 decision of the New Zealand Ladles’ Hockey Association to give the annual championship tournament this season to Ohr stohurch is hailed with enthusiasm In local ladies' hockey circles, and already active preparations are being made in readiness for the tournament. The matches will be played at Sydenham Park, and tnc tournament will run from September 7;!i to September 14th. The hon. secretary of the Canterbury Association was advised by headquarters today that eight associations at least w. 11 .send teams, in addition to the two Canter bury teams, and possibly four other as sedations will be represented. The tournament will he conducted by tho committee of the Canterbury Ladies’ Hockey Association, assisted by representatives of clubs who are not already represented on the general committee. A number of sectional committees arc to be set np to deal with different branches of the work involved, and a meeting to elect committees and define their work will be held on Saturday night. WEDNESDAY ASSOCIATION. The following are the fixtures, grounds and referees tor to-morrow: Potone v. Karori, at Potone, referee Mr J. 0. Cusack; Hereawa v. Pakeha, at Karori. referee Mr C. P. McKenzie.
