Mr G. M. Thomson (Dunedin North) will on Wednesday next ask the Minister of Railways, whether he _ will take steps to have second-class carriages built in future, with cross seats (as in firstclass carriages) so ns to ensure greater comfort for those travelling; and, if so, will ho introduce such carriages. at as early a date as possible on all long-dis-tance trains, the present carriages being extremely wearisome and uncomfortable for long journeys?
