NEW ZEALAND CHEESE

SUSPECTED ATTEMPT TO “BEAE." THE MARKET. PBGSS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, July SO. Mt J. A. Scott, (secretary of the South Island Dairy Association, has received cable advice from London that some firms which were among the largest buyers of New Zealand cheese last season are now offering to forward outputs of cheese from the Dominion at 61s per cwt and upwards. Mr Scott considers this is an attempt to frighten buyers and depress the market. The firms referred to are stated 'to have made sales at 61s, but Mr Scott advises factories to sit tight till the end of September. He considers the prospects during the incoming season for good butter and cheese are excellent.
