AGREEMENT BROKEN.

BY WHARF LABORERS. COURT EXPRESSES STRONG DISAPPROVAL. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received July 29, 11.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 29. At the resumed hearing of the case in which a number of the North Coast Steamship Company’s wharf laborers are charged with striking, counsel for the bulk of the men admitted they had broken the award, but pleaded for mitigation of the penalty on tho ground that tho employers had also broken tho agreement. Tho president of the Arbitration Court said the men had an award, and should have submitted themselves to tho court, asking for a penalty instead of taking things into their own hands. They must be taught a lesson. Judgment was reserved.
