SUMMARY OF PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS.
Stormy weather continued about Cook Strait, but baa moderated somewhat today. Unsettled and showery weather has prevailed, especially on the East Coast. Strong easterly winds have predominated. The anti-cyclone extended Into high latitudes, for 30.31 has been reported on Wednesday at Macquarie Island; when 30.70 was read at Oamaru, and the gradient has been, and Is still, very steep north and westward.
