A NARROW ESCAPE.
A narrow escape from a shocking calamity was narrowly averted recently in a largo township not far from Wellington. A yonng couple were .crossing the road for the purpose of catching a tram when they narrowly missed being knocked down by a motor-car driven at a furious pace. By great presence of mind they managed to avoid a calamity md ultimately arrived at their destine tion, which was Shortf 8 Furniture Warehouse, in Willis street, Wellington, were they had been recommended to purihase the furniture for their new home.
