DEATH OF A PRISONER

EXPIRES WHILE BEING TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. PBESS ASSOCIATION. . AUCKLAND, July 23. A prisoner at Mount Eden gaol named Andrew Hutchison, . aged about twentynine years, died in an ambulance while being conveyed to the hospital last night. He was in gaol awaiting sentence at the next sitting of the Supreme Court on a charge of forging and uttering valueless cheques. He had been suffering from consumption for some time, and as his condition grew worse last night it was decided to send him to the hospital, but he died on the way.
