Mrs Macallum (FeiWing) is in town for a day or two. Mr and tho Misses Logan arc the guests of Mrs Henry Hall Mrs Sneddon and Miss Clarke (Auckland) are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr and Mrs A. N. Graham (Hamilton) are in town, and are staying at the Grand Hotel.

Girl Peace Scouts arc requested to meet at Sussex Chambers, Panama street, at 7.30, on Friday evening. Mrs M. Myers gave a smell afternoon tea at her residence on Monday, for Mrs and Miss Rutherford, who lett the same evening for the south. A vote of sympathy with Miss Richmond in tho loss of her sister was passed yesterday by the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, of which Miss Richmond is a member.

Tho lecture on Domestic Economy to be given by Miss Freeman, M.C.A. and N,1.i5,A., ot London, to the members of the Pioneer Club, is definitely fixed to take place on Thursday afternoon at the club.

A quiet wedding took place at Okaha, Pelorus Sound, on July ISth, when Mr Joseph Henry Redwood was married to Miss Marianne Coaklcy, third daughter of the late Mr James Coakley, Mallow, County Cork, Ireland. The officiating priest was tho Rev. Father Fay. Dr Kate Hogg lectured last evening under the auspices of the Nursing Guild of St. John, when a large number of members were present despite the inclement weather. Tho subject of “Bathing” was chosen by tho lecturer, who traced tho custom from tho early Greeks and Romans to modem times. A vote of thanks was carried by acclamation. At tho Basilica, Hill street, yesterday morning, a quiet wedding was solemnised between Mr Charles Hickmott, the wellknown singer, and second eon of Mr J. A. Hickmott, Thomdon quay, and Miss Josephine Levin, second daughter of Mr P. A. Levin, of Tinakori road. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Hickson, administrator. Mr and Mrs Hickmott, who will spend their honeymoon in the north, left by the Main Trunk express. On Saturday afternoon Mr Hickmott, who is a member of :the executive of the Wellington Orphans’ Club, was entertained uud presented by tit embers with a handsome afternoon silver tea service and forks and spoons. .The presentation was made by Colonel Collins, president of tho club, who referred to tho good work done by Mr .Hickmott) wishing him long life, happiness and prosperity in his new sphere. Dr Izard and'the secretary of the club, -Mr Keenan, also offered congratulations.
