MEETING OF THE BOARD. Tho Wellington Hospital and Charit able Aid Board met yesterday afternoon. There wore present:—Messrs J. Trevor (chairman), H. Baldwin, G. Nash, W. Galloway, B. E. Gardener, J. Godber, R. Fletcher, R. C. Kirk, J. W. McEwan. P. T. Moore, D. Robertson, J. Smith, W. Tompsitt, A. H. Hindmarsh. It was reported by the hospital committee that tiro hospital receipts for the mouth had been AC33, and the expenditure .£2704.

In tho report of the charitable aid committee, it was stated that 57 outdoor cares had been relieve-d during tho month, the cash grants totalling .£39 and tho weekly rations 413. The indoor cases dealt with numbered 270.

The charitable aid superintendent reported that for the quarter ending Jnno 30th the expenditure was A 2393 6« 3d. or A 72 6s 5d more than for the same period last year. The recoveries had decreased by Al 5 12s. There was a not decrease of J 273 in tho expenditure on Ohiro Home and in charitable aid exclusive of the home there was a net increase of Al6l. On the recommendation of the finance committee accounts totalling A46IG 3s wore passed for payment under the following headings :—Wellington hospital, A 3813 11s 3d; charitable aid and Ohiro Home, -Coll X9s 6d; Otaki hospital and sanatorium, A3Ol 11s 2d; head office and public health, AlB9 Is Id. The public health committee reported that for the month tho inspectors had made —4-1 investigations. -IS disinfections, 5 sanitary inspections, 54 revisits. Tho following cases of disease had also been notified: —Scarlet fever, 23; diphtheria, 16; tuberculosis, 11; enteric fever, 2; blood poisoning, 2.
