EASTBOURNE BOROUGH
At a meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council on Saturday tho Mayor (Mr It. W. Short) and Councillors Button, Morris,. Boss, Bussell, and Wills wore present.
A request was received for a bridge over a large open ditch near Mario street, but it was decided that the work could not be undertaken at present. It was decided to take steps to cure the sand-drifts in : Niknu street.
A complaint respecting stormwater at Muritai was referred to the public works committee.' •
In accordance with the recommendations of a sub-committee, it was decided to make repairs to tho roads in a number of places. A report was submitted on tho stormwater drainage requirements. Somedrain works to copp with the trouble at Muritai were authorised, , It was decided that the members of the public works committee should make a thorough inspection of the borough on Saturday afternoon next.
