THE WHALE

TO BE REMOVED,

AND BOILED DOWN AT NGAHAURANGA.

The whale which drifted ashore in the vicinity of Lyall Bay, and which still lies, an object of, interest and putrescent odors, where it was cast up, has found a claimant. Mr T. Iliddler, of Ngahauranga, has completed negotiations with the Marine Department for removing the carcase. He lias made a deposit as a guarantee that ho will remove all traces of the animal to- the’ satisfaction of the department as quickly as possible.

is understood Mr Riddler intends tc cut the whale up and remove it to Ngahauranga, where it will be boiled down.j On 'Sunday it is estimated that £0 people went out to Dyall Bay to see the big creature, and the increase in the tramway revenue over that line for the week has been very great in consequence. The returns from this source are set down at from £2OO to £3OO.
